Jaipur Elephant Festival
, is celebrated in Jaipur in the month of March-April on the auspicious occasion of Holi. The old stadium at Jaipur, named Chaugan is the official venue for Jaipur elephant festival held every year. Among all the fairs and festivals of Jaipur, the elephant festival authenticates an elite status. It is an extraordinary juncture for the tourists to behold a massive assemblage of elephants inundated with vibrant adornments. These elaborately caparisoned elephants participate in exciting elephant races and other interesting sports. Varied events like races, polo games, tug of wars elephants vs. men are today an integral part of the festival. The elephant, camel and horse pageants pursued by energetic folk dance performances are worth seeing. 

The elephant festival of Jaipur is referred in the legendary Jataka tales of Buddhism where tradition of Hastimangala or the Elephant Festival is mentioned. Elephants are also considered to be the emblematic sign of power and fortune. The Rajput rulers made the presence of elephants in wars and in noble carousing customary.  In its venture to restore past traditions, Rajasthan Tourism has taken infinite steps to promote the elephant festival in Jaipur.

By Train: Shatabdi and Intercity connects Jaipur to Delhi. Shatabdi is fully air conditioned train starts from Delhi (5.55 AM) to Jaipur (10.35 AM), you can also try Intercity Exp starts from Delhi at (4.55 PM) reaches Jaipur (10.35 PM).
